I remember going when I was a kid a few times but remember feeling embarrassed because we had to wear meeting attire and carry our bibles and even look up scriptures as we went along. I found it utterly booring staring at a Moabite stone (I think) and all I wanted to do was go off and look at mummy's and dinosaur bones.

British museum bible tours
by inbetween invisiting london years ago i had the chance to participate on a bible tour arranged from bethel.
what i remember, it was one out of 12 topics, and a brother or sister served as a guide, showing particular objects related to bible accounts.. at that time, i was quite enthusiastic about it, thinking i learned something valuable.. .
now, being awake to ttatt, i wonder what real scientific value those tours served.. or rather it raises the suspicion, that those tours are for visiting witnesses in order to distract them from many other finds in the museum, that would disprove either the bible or their own theology.. anybody ever made such a tour ?.

Its taken me 15 years to tell one of my best friends. And because I've kept it secret and lied for so long (through embarrassment) its now so much harder to come out and tell people after lying for so long.
I've finally told 3 people in work who I class as good friends. One of them said ''that explains your weirdness

I asked what she was watching on my mums tablet and mum said whilst laughing 'Oh sorry but she wants to watch bible stories' then all I heard was something about Jehovah and keeping rooms tidy. I quickly asked ''that had better not be Sparlock?''
Mum and dad didn't know what I was on about. It was the first thing that came into my head. Then I saw it was a plane and not a wizzard that the boy was playing with. I just told them I didn't want her watching those videos. They said oh its just about keeping your bedroom tidy and obeying your parents. I said that I still didn't want her to watch them.
I think I over reacted. I should have just left it alone. She won't understand what its all about ansyway when she knows nothing about the religion or Armageddon. It probably would have gone over her head. Instead I've just made my parents feel awkward which I didn't want to do.

What have the 'myriads of angels' ever done for humanity?
by yadda yadda 2 inthink about it, myriads upon myriads of do-nothing, never lift a finger angels floating around, ignoring all the untold pain and suffering on this planet for thousands of years.
what have all these millions of angels ever done for anyone?
occasional random materialisations in ancient israelite times?.

My daughter often asks why nana and grandad don't celebrate anything fun. She asked my mum the other day and my mum didn't know how to answer her so asked her ''what do mummy and daddy tell you is the reason why we don't celebrate anything?''
I was dreading my daughters answer in case she repeated anything sarcastic that she may have overheard me or her dad saying. But she answered my mum with ''because you're Christian''
I haven't got a clue where she got that from. I'm sure thats not something she's overheard me saying.
I tell my daughter that they don't celebrate anything because of their religion. They she announces that she is never going to be religious if it stops her having fun. She is only 7.

I quite often pop over to see my parents on the weekend but this weekend I along with my brothers have been banished from the house for their oh so important visitors.
What do they think we are going to do to these people. It makes me mad that they rate these Bethalites so highly. They're just people.
My mum has been making a big deal out of it for 2 weeks. The fact that they've been asked to up them up for the weekend for the special talk. ''And they're from Bethel'' As if I'm going to be impressed. My parents obviously are.

Do you have smoking ban in your community?
by Iamallcool indoes it include all public places, etc...?.

They have to go out doors to the smoking shelter where I work but when they get back in the lift with you after they stink to high heaven. I have ended up telling a few how bad they stink.
I know its rude of me but not as rude as they are infecting my breathing air. I also say it in the hope that it will humiliate them so much they will consider giving up.
I dispise it. And I'm married to a smoker!
